Implementing This Single Step will Transform Your Family’s Eating Habits

Have you ever wondered why the U.S. has such a problem with obesity?  One in three kids are overweight.  Most overweight kids will grow to be overweight adults.  This is the first generation where parents may outlive their kids.  The trends are shocking.  So if we know this is such an issue, why can’t we fix it?  I hear the excuses day in and day out:  healthy eating is too hard, too expensive, too time consuming…the list goes on and on.

I defend parents every day for the many things we juggle.  It’s a tough job.  But parents, I have to be honest with us too.  We’re creating this mess.  We can’t blame our kids. We can’t blame our schools.  We can’t blame the Government (well, maybe).  The truth is, we have the choice of deciding what we eat every day.  We’re simply making the wrong choices.

It’s a fact of nature that we as humans seek the path of least resistance.  In terms of health and diet, that often means processed foods, fast foods, and frozen foods.  We choose convenience over health.

For some reason, healthy eating hasn’t hit the list of priorities yet.   And for many, it only becomes a priority when our bodies just can’t take the abuse any more.

I have a small secret to share. It only takes 1 step to transform your eating habits and you can have this step in place today.

It’s nothing more than Planning & Organizing.  Yep, that’s it.  That’s your key to success.  Fail to plan and just plan to fail.”  It’s that simple.  We use this in every aspect of life and a healthy lifestyle is no different.

I challenge you to plan and organize your meals this weekend.  In less than 2 hours you can plan, shop, prep, and organize.   Two hours!  That’s all you need to pull off an incredible week.  And I’m not buying that you don’t have it.  The average American watches 4 hours of TV per day (not including time on Facebook).  Forego your time in front of the TV and plan your meals for the week and organize your refrigerator.  It’s therapeutic, rewarding, and one of the most powerful things you can do to get your family on track and eating healthy.

Don’t believe it’s still possible? Check out this 3-minute video where I intervene and pull a local family out of their rut and back into a healthy eating lifestyle.  It’s an impressive refrigerator transformation.

If they can do it, you can too.  Start today!

Mandy,

Great job with the video. You guys are bound to change lives!!!! I love the fact that you put an emphasis on prepping and organization, I actually have to get on the ball with that myself. I love to cook at home, but normally it’s on the fly. Love the website and what it has to offer, great job once again!

I am beyond jealous. That was a great video. I love the way you set up the times for shopping, making the recipes and the prep. I love love the way everything is labeled and ready to go. WOW! I need to begin to look into this in a more serious manner if I am committed to making changes. I am so thankful for the video and your information. Thank you- Carolyn

Mandy this video is AWESOME!! I love this idea – especially since there are four adults in my house who cook on any given day. This makes it so easy to see what’s for dinner and to make sure no one eats the “dinner ingredients” before we get to make the planned meals. Where did you get those containers and labels? They almost look like mini chalk-boards.

Thanks Tanya. I appreciate the feedback. The containers are a part of the product line that Lindy will be featuring on the HKI product store (launching this week). Labels are Martha Stewart/removable adhesive chalkboard. They’re so easy and fun to use.

I am absolutely thrilled about the great work you did with the video, Mandy!
Great idea to show a fridge on its regular basis from inside and then displayed after re-organizing it –>> even with stickers to work yourself through it faster.
The fridge now looks like my closet: all organized, even by colours, short sleeve shirts, long sleeve ones, ….. it is fun, isn´t it?
And you are such a professional “video leader”, good job and the idea is awesome!
Mandy, keep going ->> you will have plenty of traffic on your website!

…wish you LOTS of SUCCESS,
rita

Mandy I never realized how much stress it caused in my home every evening trying to figure out what we were going to have for dinner, until this week. Last week I used my sistema containers to organize dinner for 5 days on Sunday afternoon and every night my husband got home before I did and everything for each meal was in the container and ready to go and it worked out perfectly. However, last weekend we traveled and didn’t get home until later and I didn’t take the time to get organized for the week and every night it has been a rush to thaw something and prepare it and still cook healthy. I love my sistema and the benefits of the service you offer from Healthy Kids Inc. Even though my “kid” is 19 it is never to late to start living healthy!!
